Privacy of Student Records – Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) allows current and future students to have access to their individual educational records, provides basic protections of privacy for their records, and allows them to request that certain “directory information” be kept confidential. Student Grievance Policy

Students also have the option to file formal complaints against Davis & Elkins College through the Higher Learning Commission here or at the state level through the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission. Students may also file a complaint through the Campus Conduct Hotline

Clubs and Organizations Participation

Results from the 2016 graduate survey indicated that 68 percent of the graduating seniors were members of a club or organization while a student at D&E.

Participation in a Varsity Sport 

Results from the 2016 graduate survey indicated that 34 percent of the graduating seniors participated in a varsity sport while a student at D&E.

Intercollegiate Athletic Program Participation Rates and Financial Support Data

Davis & Elkins College annually reports to the federal government certain information regarding participation rates and financial support data for intercollegiate athletics. The report is available at here.

Voter Registration

Davis & Elkins College, as a participant in Federal Title IV Student Aid programs, is required to advise you that voter registration forms for West Virginia are available on the website of the Secretary of State here. In addition to voter registration forms, other information related to voting in West Virginia is available on the Secretary of State website. The College also utilizes TurboVote, an online application that provides students with the opportunity to register to vote and get absentee ballots.
