Davis & Elkins College will celebrate the class of 2022 with a Nurses’ Pinning Ceremony, two Baccalaureate Services and two Commencement Ceremonies the weekend of May 6-7.

The traditional Nurses’ Pinning ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium in Myles Center for the Arts. Students earning an Associate in Science in nursing and R.N. to Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees will be recognized. A reception will follow in Myles Center for the Arts Senate Commons.

Two Baccalaureate Services will be conducted on Friday, May 6 in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium in Myles Center for the Arts. Students in nursing, education and sport science, and natural science will attend the 5 p.m. ceremony, while students in social science, business, humanities and creative arts will attend the 8 p.m. ceremony. Graduates will be presented with academic hoods and commemorative medals. The ceremony also will include a call to worship, an opening prayer and scripture readings by members of the class of 2022.

Commencement will take place in two ceremonies as well, both on Saturday, May 7 in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium in Myles Center for the Arts. At 10 a.m., students earning degrees in nursing, education and sport science, and natural science will receive their diplomas. At 1 p.m., degrees will be awarded to students in social science, business, humanities and creative arts.

In addition to seating in the auditorium, space will be available in Myles Center for the Arts Senate Commons where guests can view Baccalaureate Services and Commencement Ceremonies via live stream video.

To ensure the safety and health of everyone, unvaccinated members of the campus community and unvaccinated guests are required to wear a mask. Masks will be available from any D&E staff member at the entrance to the auditorium.
