Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund checks ready for qualifying students

D&E recently received its second round of checks from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF II). The college issued checks to all PELL recipients on March 1, which may be picked up at the business office. D&E will distribute further relief through an application process. If you have completed a FASFA, are a U.S. citizen, and believe you have “exceptional need,” please apply for additional relief funds through this link. Applications must be submitted by March 15.

If you are a relief recipient and want to apply the funds toward your tuition and fees, please complete this permission to apply form. You can view your up-to-date Student Account information via D&E’s self-service portal. Any balance owed is now past due and should be paid before the start of the Fall 2021 semester. If the balance is above $500.00, your account is on a Level 3 hold and you will not be eligible for registration on March 16 until the hold is resolved.

Random COVID-19 testing on campus

In compliance with the mandate by the State of West Virginia, 10% of the campus community (students, faculty, and staff) must be tested each week for COVID-19. The test utilizes the VAULT saliva-based PCR test instrument. Any student receiving an email indicating you have been selected to test is required to comply.

Kudos to D&E students for leading the way in COVID-19 prevention! Testing revealed no new cases on campus for the third consecutive week! Do not relax your safety practices and don’t let your fellow students relax, either! Stay diligent and staff safe.
