111TH COMMENCEMENT WEEKEND

SEPTEMBER 19, 2020

Note: 2020 Graduates, please complete this survey by July 13 to let us know if you plan to attend or if you are not able to attend; and, to submit the information that we need to make your graduation day a cherished memory for you. This is very important!

Time and Location

Time: Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 1:00 p.m.

Location: Davis & Elkins College Amphitheatre

Seating: Festival: (Please bring your camp chairs and blankets.)

Rain / Inclement Weather Location:

Harper-McNeeley Auditorium / Myles Center for the Arts.

Last names beginning with A-J: 1:00 p.m. 

Last names beginning with K-Z: 4:00 p.m.

Seating: Seating will be ticketed and assigned based on the number of guests you indicate will attend to allow for safe social distancing while inside. Graduates must attend at their designated time.

Hooding

The tradition of hooding will be a part of the Commencement ceremony. For the safety of everyone, we ask that you select one member from your family to participate in the hooding ceremony. They will come forward with you to receive your hood and to place it on you.  Please complete the survey to indicate who will hood you.

Live Stream

The full Commencement ceremony will be live-streamed and recorded; and, all names will be read. We understand with the significant travel restrictions around the country and world, attending will not be possible for all graduates.

Important / COVID-19 Safety Plan

Davis & Elkins College has a comprehensive COVID-19 safety plan in place outlining the policies, protocols, and procedures to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, as well as the local community. All graduates and guests attending commencement will be required to follow these guidelines, including wearing a mask at all times and remaining within the designated commencement area on the lower portion of campus. The campus will be open only to current students.  Please know that these measures are in place for the health and safety of everyone and to help ensure that students are able to remain on campus for the full fall semester.
