What are your office hours?

The Office of Admission is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

I would like to tour campus. How do I visit D&E?

You can schedule a visit by visiting our website.

Can first-year students have cars on campus?

Yes, first-year students are able to have cars on campus, but must park in a designated location (McDonnell Center Parking). Parking pass fee will apply.

Can I have a pet on campus?

No, pets are not permitted on campus. We do allow, per ADA guidelines, emotional support animals for details and how to apply contact Student Life. 304-637-1211.

Are there laundry facilities in the residence halls?

Yes, there are washers and dryers in each residence hall. There is no charge for washer and dryer use. Laundry is included in tuition.

How do I get a roommate?

Fill out a housing form. Housing assignments begin at the end of the current academic year.  If you don’t have a roommate picked at the time you fill out your housing form, your roommate will be chosen based off your housing form answers. Housing is not computer-generated but personally assigned by Student Life staff. If you do find someone you would like to room with later, contact Student Life. 304-637-1211

Do I have to have a meal plan if I live on campus?

Yes, students must have a meal plan if living on campus.

What if I want a single room?

If you are interested in a single room, please contact Student Life. 304-637-1211. Single rooms are limited and offered upon availability. The cost of a single room is $4,000 per semester.

When should I claim credit for my AP exams?

As soon as you receive your score, send it to Dr. Haynes in the Registrar’s Office C/O Davis and Elkins College, 100 Campus Drive, Elkins, WV 26241 or add D&E as a recipient when you take the test.

Do you prefer applicants submit the SAT or ACT?

We accept both SAT scores and ACT scores.

How do I send in my SAT or ACT scores?

You can submit your scores through the College Board and ACT websites. You will need the following codes to submit your scores:

ACT Code: 4518

Can I study abroad at D&E?

Yes, students may have the opportunity to study abroad during their time at D&E.

Use our website to see all the different majors we have to offer – Academic Programs – when you look at this link it lists several pieces of information, as well as our College Catalog. As far as picking a major – go with your interests: math, science, teaching, sports management, nursing. All the information for our programs are on the website.
