Information Services

Information Services is comprised of Information Technology, the Library, and the Campus Mailroom. It is the hub for all college information and computing services and serves the needs of both academic and administrative users.

Student on Computer

Davis & Elkins College is pleased to offer a variety of options for connecting, computing, and printing. The college network includes a fiber-optic backbone with a 1.2GBs connection. Campus computing facilities can be found in Booth Library (available 24/7), Eshleman Science Center, Albert Hall, and several small departmental labs. Students may connect computers and mobile devices to the network wirelessly from anywhere on campus. High-quality equipment for color laser printing, poster printing, copying, and scanning is available in Booth Library.

Campus email accounts are provided to students, and students can keep this account after graduation! Students can download the Office 365 suite of desktop productivity programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) for their academic and personal use. Discipline-specific software and research databases in support of academics are available.

The Information Desk in Booth Library is a place where members of the D&E Community can go for in-person IT or Library assistance. Also, the Campus Mailroom, located in Benedum Hall, is where students can send and receive mail and packages, including UPS.

 

Computer Lab

24/7 Student Computer Center

Booth Library features a comfortably designed, 24-hour, secure keyless-entry computer lab that available to students whenever there is a need to do online research or write a paper in a quiet place. Students simply need to get an access code to use the entry system. During finals week, this computer lab is a popular place.

Tech Tips

Tech tips provided by the Davis & Elkins College Office of Information Services are available for students, faculty and staff. The tech portal provides step-by-step instructions for performing common tasks utilizing D&E technology resources. More tutorials will be added as they become available.
