Research interest/Professional activities
Dr. Rajitha Perera specializes in the development of optical luminescence sensors for real-world applications, with additional expertise in lanthanide inorganic complexes, organometallic chemistry, and chemical synthesis. His current research involves mentoring undergraduate students on projects focused on the effects of silver nanoparticles on Lactobacillus bacteria. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Perera oversees the chemistry department’s stockroom management, chemical waste disposal, reagent preparation, and routine laboratory safety inspections.
