David Rogers has been appointed assistant athletic director for sports information and communications at Davis & Elkins College. In this capacity he is responsible for promoting the College’s athletic programs and student-athletes through various platforms, statistical compilation and reporting, and nominating student-athletes for weekly and post-season accolades.
Rogers brings a background in sports information and coaching on both the secondary and collegiate levels.
“As a young professional getting started in intercollegiate athletics, I was aware of David’s adaptability and work ethic,” said D&E Director of Athletics Patrick Snively. “Now, after several years and varied experiences, I am pleased to welcome him to our department as I know he is fully prepared to move us forward and has already hit the ground running.”
Most recently, Rogers served as director of sports information at Glenville State College. Prior to that, he was the assistant men’s basketball coach at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. There he recruited and mentored a Conference Carolinas defensive player of the year, freshman of the year, and two first team all CIAA and three second team Conference Carolinas selections. Rogers also has served as assistant women’s basketball coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, assistant athletic director and head coach for Grant County Schools and director of basketball operations at Fairmont State University.
“I am extremely excited to join the D&E family,” Rogers said. “Coach Patrick Snively is a great leader, and I am very happy to join his team. I look forward to helping Davis & Elkins College grow.”
Rogers holds a Bachelor of Arts from Fairmont State University. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Chowan University.
