Davis & Elkins College student-athletes are excited to see a new electronic scoreboard at Harpertown Field, thanks to support from the FirstEnergy Foundation. The College recently received a second $5,000 grant to assist with the project.
The new scoreboard will be utilized for baseball games at the facility located off Harpertown Road.
“The FirstEnergy Foundation is a valued community partner of Davis & Elkins College and this region,” said D&E President Chris A. Wood. “We are grateful for their investment in our students who in turn will be the workforce and community leaders of the next generation.”
The College’s initiatives align with the FirstEnergy Foundation’s focus on organizations within their service area that support priorities to help improve the vitality of communities, promote local and regional economic development, and advance an educated workforce.
“The FirstEnergy Foundation is pleased to support Davis & Elkins College in its efforts to recruit a diverse blend of students whether it be through its athletic programs, educational degree work, relationship with the community, or its reputation as a top-notch international college,” said Timothy Pingley, regional external affairs consultant for FirstEnergy.
