Davis & Elkins senior defender Alex Estrada-Avila has been named to Major League Soccer’s SuperDraft 2022 Eligible Players list.
Estrada had a standout year for the Senators and helped lead them to a Mountain East Conference regular season title, a second-round NCAA Regional win, and a berth in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Individually, Estrada was MEC Defensive Player-of-the-Year, an all-Atlantic Region First Team honoree, and a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
The list of 174 players, found here, represents some of the most talented and promising prospects from mainly NCAA Division I institutions and some professional players hoping to make it to the MLS ranks.
Estrada is one of only two NCAA Division II athletes on the list. The other, University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Rade Novakovich, was named NCAA Division II Player-of-the-Year.
The draft takes place at 3 p.m. EST Tuesday, Jan. 11.
