Davis & Elkins College earned three top spots in the 2021 PLEXUSS Global Rankings. The College’s social sciences programs came in at No. 3 in West Virginia while the natural sciences and environmental studies programs were ranked No. 4 in the state.

“Our programs in the natural sciences and environmental studies have been consistently strong for many years,” said D&E Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rob Phillips. “Our students in these areas are exceptionally well-prepared for either employment or graduate study in a number of fields. Our social science programs have more recently grown in stature and are combining a diverse offering of courses with an extensive network of internship and practicum partners. Faculty in these disciplines are to be commended for their excellent work on behalf of our students and the College.”

PLEXUSS, a mission driven education technology company, connects students with post-secondary institutions worldwide.

The rankings and methodology incorporate student feedback, as well as input from education partners, data scientists, employers, parents and high school counselors. In determining which institutions have the best undergraduate programs in West Virginia, PLEXUSS utilized data from the Department of Education. To create a more encompassing ranking system, they incorporated subject-specific rankings from the most prominent reputable ranking sources available: U.S. News, Times Higher Education, QS and ARWU to create the final list.
