Davis & Elkins College is No. 3 in West Virginia in the 2022 WalletHub Best Colleges & University Ranking. The recent report evaluated 1,000 colleges and universities across 30 key measures.
Among the Top 10 ranked Colleges and Universities in West Virginia, D&E is third in gender and racial diversity, fourth in student-faculty ratio, fourth in graduation rate and fifth in admission rate.
“Davis & Elkins College is grateful for yet another national ranking that affirms what our students already know,” said Davis & Elkins College President Chris A. Wood. “D&E offers high quality academics and the net cost of attendance is a great value. WalletHub’s designation of D&E as a top college in West Virginia is right on target.”
The website’s annual rankings compare higher learning institutions to determine the top-performing schools at the lowest costs. In order to determine the list, WalletHub collected data and grouped that information into seven categories, such as Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes. The metrics range from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary.
Recognizing the challenge of predicting future outcomes, WalletHub’s Best Colleges ranking also analyzes post-attendance metrics — the student-loan default rate and the share of former students out earning high school graduates, for instance — to show the value of the education students can expect to receive beyond their undergraduate studies.
Davis & Elkins College was also recently recognized by Colleges of Distinction and U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges.
