Davis & Elkins College has been selected as a 2021 Best Value School by University Research and Review. The organization reviews criteria annually to provide students with information on post-secondary institutions that provide a high quality, affordable education.
The Best Value School Award is not based on a ranking system. While researchers do include traditional college statistical information, they also review academic programs, student life options and student opinions and compare that with financial outcomes data. Each Best Value School is selected because it meets criteria important to postsecondary students of all ages. While each individual’s criteria may vary, all have basic requirements which include: a place where they fit in; where they find appropriate, top-notch academic programs; and where the costs to attend are reasonable and financial aid is available.
“This endorsement by University Research and Review is yet another example of the broad recognition coming to Davis & Elkins College as a result of the superior educational experience offered at a competitive price point,” said Davis & Elkins College President Chris A. Wood. “This recognition is particularly satisfying because it is based in large part on the response of our present students, who are our best ambassadors and offer an authentic perspective for the experience awaiting prospective students at D&E.”
Best Value researchers gather data by scouring the Internet, reviewing public databases and through one-on-one interviews. Their team found that students have a positive opinion of D&E, saying it has a family like atmosphere and professors who go out of their way to make sure students understand class content.
