Happy Commencement Weekend! We made it through exam week together! Underclassmen will be making their way home and graduating seniors will participate in a hallmark event in their lives Saturday at Commencement. It is essential that the communication of important information continues, so be sure to read through the information in today’s update.

Saturday Commencement to include three in-person ceremonies, live streaming
D&E will hold in-person commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 8. As a precautionary measure, three separate ceremonies will be held during the day in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium in the Myles Center for the Arts:
- Saturday, May 8, 10:00 a.m. – Nursing
- Saturday, May 8. 1:00 p.m. – Business; Education & Sports Science
- Saturday, May 8, 4:00 p.m. – Creative Arts; Humanities; Natural Sciences; Social Sciences

Secure your housing plans before leaving campus
If you have not contracted for housing for next year (2021-22 academic year), room sign-up may be completed at the Office of Student Life before you leave campus.
Non-graduates have moved out; graduates, approved students out by Sunday
As noted on the Academic Calendar and in the Davis & Elkins College Policy Manual: Volume VI, Student Life Policies, residence halls officially closed for non-graduates at noon on Friday. Residence halls will close for graduates at noon on Sunday, May 9 (this applies to graduates and students approved to stay only).
REMINDER: Summer storage is not available on campus.
Students not returning for Fall 2021 semester must give notice

D&E students are outstanding! We had another great week in our final week of COVID-19 prevention this semester! The team effort by students during the course of the year has been amazing and demonstrates the respect and love students have for our institution. Continue those safe practices at home over the summer as we all work together toward positive outcomes. Please wear your mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently, avoid large crowds, and encourage others to do the same.
