Accounting is more than taxes — much more.
Accounting is the language of business. It defines transactions so they can be used to describe business activities in a format that can be understood by decision makers and strategic planners. Accounting is applied in the areas of auditing, forensics, fraud examination, and government accounting, to name only a few.
