Experience:
As a Certified Public Accountant with a career in the private and government sectors, Daniels-Smith has a strong background in accounting and business administration. Prior to coming to D&E, Daniels-Smith served as treasurer for the city of Elkins, a position she held for four years. As an administrative officer for the city, she was responsible for all financial statements, including budget preparation and adoption. During her time with the city, she developed and implemented an internal control plan to establish segregation of duties, raised the audit report level of opinion to an unqualified, which is the best opinion available, and provided customers an alternative method for paying their bills. Daniels-Smith also is the owner of Accounting Solutions LLC. She previously worked in accounting for Schleer Builders Inc. and Elkins Fordland.

Daniels-Smith is a member of West Virginia Society of CPAs and was the recipient of the professional organization’s Outstanding CPA in Government Award in 2014 for her outstanding contributions in 2013. She also is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Randolph County Chapter 74 Order of Eastern Star and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She is a past board member and treasurer for Randolph County Humane Society.
