Booth Library is the academic library of Davis & Elkins College. It serves students, faculty, staff, and members of the Elkins community. The library’s offerings include a wide array of books, journals, and electronic databases, along with media-ready conference and seminar rooms, a lounge area, and a computer lab with printing and scanning capability.
Collections
Booth Library is home to three collections. Most notably, it serves as a federal government documents depository — a designation it has held since 1913. It houses Special Collections & Archives containing primary sources, rare materials, and the college archives.

These collections preserve and provide access to primary sources and rare materials that support the teaching and research of Davis & Elkins College. Most notably, they contain rare primary sources spanning the college’s 120+ years. Collections include:

Community Access
Booth Library is open and free to the Elkins community. Any community member can visit, use the catalog and databases, and access the stacks. To check out books, community members must register for a borrower’s card, which requires proof of address (such as a driver’s license). The library, its catalog, and its databases are completely free and open to the public.
