Course Catalog: Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education (5–Adult)

The Mathematics Education major leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree requires 100 semester hours. Required mathematics courses include MATH 110, 135, 180, 195, 196, 201, 205, 303, 312, 394A, and three additional semester hours in mathematics courses numbered above 200. Students must also complete PHYS 221 and 222 or PHYS 251 and 252.

Students seeking 5–Adult certification must complete the following Professional Education courses: EDUC 100, 120A, 209, 210SP, 212SP, 317, 334A, and 467A. Field-based experiences include EDUC 195L, 295L, 296L, 395L, and 396L. Residency requirements consist of EDUC 480A, 493B, and 494A. Additional required courses are COMM 107A and PSYC 217. Students who are not seeking licensure must complete a Foundations of Education minor in place of the listed EDUC courses.
