Cybercrime is one of the fastest-growing threats facing governments, businesses, and individuals, and the workforce trained to stop it is in short supply. The Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a concentration in Cybersecurity combines a strong foundation in criminological theory with the technical skills needed to investigate and prevent cybercrime.

Bachelor of Arts in Criminology

The requirements for a major in criminology with a concentration in cybersecurity consist of 48 credit hours of specified or elective criminology and psychology courses and 21 credit hours of cybersecurity courses. The cybersecurity courses are offered through Rize/LCMC. An additional requirement is an academic minor selected outside the discipline of criminology.

The cybersecurity concentration is a unique offering that combines the analytical and investigative grounding of a criminology degree with the technical training required to work in cybersecurity. You’ll get training in network and system security, cybercrime and governance, ethical hacking, security operations, and the future of cybersecurity, alongside core criminology coursework in criminal law, criminal procedure, criminal investigations, and research methods.
