David Pomeory begins his first season at Davis & Elkins as the head women’s lacrosse coach in 2021-22

Bringing no shortage of playing and coaching experience with him to Elkins, Pomeroy most recently served as the inaugural head coach at NCAA DIII Marian University in Wisconsin since 2017. Pomeroy also worked with Black Lax high school club team since 2017 in Wisconsin in addition to his duties at Marian. A Baltimore, Maryland native and standout high school lacrosse player, Pomeroy spent much of his coaching tenure on the east coast.

Working for three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Pomeroy assisted with the Crimson Hawks’ goalkeepers from 2013-2016. While in Indiana, Pomeroy helped IUP finish in the national rankings all three seasons while coaching six All-Americans.

Pomeroy worked throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with Intrepid Girls Lacrosse Club (2014-2016), as assistant coach at Indiana High School (2015-16), assistant coach at Kutztown University (2012) and head coach at Freedom High School (2011-12).

Pomeroy served as an assistant and head coach at various high schools, including Laramie, Wyoming (2007-08), and in Maryland at Dundalk (2009) and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (2009-10).

Pomeroy graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2012 before receiving his master’s in sports management from IUP in 2016.
