Learn the business side of sports.
In the sport management program at Davis & Elkins College, you’ll gain knowledge of the global sports industry by combining a coaching education emphasis with a recommended business minor. Coursework in wellness, athletic training, team sports, kinesiology, law in sport, and other business-related topics will train you to succeed in this exciting, fast-paced business.
The sport management program prepares you for leadership roles across the global sports industry. By combining an emphasis in coaching education with a recommended business minor, you’ll develop a well-rounded foundation that spans athletic management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and sport law. Housed within the Education and Sport Science department, the program draws on strong faculty expertise and a network of industry connections to provide real-world experience both on and off campus.
You’ll be required to complete an internship under professional supervision. Our strong alumni network and faculty connections will provide you with opportunities to engage with industry leaders in professional and collegiate athletics and global management and marketing arenas. As a sport management graduate, you can continue your education through D&E’s Master of Science in Sport Management — the first graduate degree in the College’s history — offering an advanced pathway for leadership roles in the sport industry.
