Nursing - Accelerated Bachelor of Science

Put Your Nursing Career on the Fast Track

Nursing students accelerating their education.

Earn your bachelor’s degree in just three years.

The accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program allows you to complete your degree in three years instead of four and is offered in-person or hybrid. The hybrid program, which is the perfect option if you want a faster path to entering the healthcare field, is made possible by a grant from West Virginia’s Nursing Workforce Expansion Program.

The Hybrid Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Davis & Elkins College is designed for non-traditional students seeking a flexible path into the nursing profession, including working adults pursuing a career change, CNAs ready to advance, single parents balancing busy schedules, and transfer students looking for a supportive place to continue their education.

This program blends the convenience of online learning with the essential hands-on experience required in nursing. Approximately 65% of nursing coursework is delivered online, allowing students to complete lectures and assignments on their own schedule. The remaining 35% takes place in person through clinical experiences, labs, and simulation training at the SIM Center and local healthcare facilities.

Through D&E’s partnership with Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center, you gain access to state-of-the-art facilities and dynamic, hands-on clinical learning from day one. You’ll also benefit from small class sizes, faculty who know you by name, and clinical partnerships that connect classroom learning to real-world practice.

The curriculum is organized around the QSEN Competencies (Quality and Safety Education for Nurses), ensuring you develop the skills needed to provide safe, patient-centered, evidence-based, collaborative, and technology-informed care.

The BSN program holds dual accreditation from the NLN Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN-CNEA) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), ensuring you will meet the highest standards in the profession.
