Gifts of Appreciated Securities
If you have marketable securities, such as stocks or bonds, that have grown substantially in value, the tax laws allow you to make an important gift at remarkably low after-tax cost. It’s easy to make a gift of securities, whether the securities are held in a brokerage account or are in your possession.
Simply contact Institutional Advancement for instructions and for the information you’ll need to provide to your broker to complete the transaction.
Gifts that Honor Others
To honor a friend, family member, or favorite professor, or to honor the memory of one who has passed away, you may designate your contribution as a memorial gift. Simply provide information about the person you are honoring when you make your gift, and let us know whom we should notify. Contact an Institutional Advancement staff member if you are interested in creating a permanent tribute or memorial.

Estate & Planned Giving
You can make a planned gift simply by listing Davis & Elkins College in your will or designating the college as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy. Should you wish to maximize your income after retirement, you might consider a charitable gift annuity or trust.
To learn more or for questions about our estate and planned giving options, please contact a member of the Institutional Advancement staff.
