Brian Reyes is in his fourth season as the assistant athletic director for sports medicine and head athletic trainer at Davis & Elkins College after being hired to the position in August of 2017.
Reyes has played a critical role in the coverage for D&E’s 24 varsity programs, also serving as a member of the COVID-19 reopening subcommittee for athletics.
Reyes comes to Davis & Elkins from south Florida, with a wealth of athletic training experience across several levels of athletics. Reyes had served as an athletic trainer with Broward Health Sports Medicine since 2010. His most recent assignment was specifically working with Cypress Bay High School.
Prior to Cypress Bay, Reyes also worked with Nova High School and Stoneman Douglas High School.
During his time with Broward Health, Reyes also worked as an athletic trainer for the Major League Soccer combine held in February from 2013-16.
Reyes, who was a member of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team, also worked other sporting events contracted by Broward Health.
Prior to his time with Broward Health, Reyes also completed internships with Fort Lauderdale Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine P.A. and Atlantic Rehabilitation Centers, where he worked specifically in rehabilitation of patients and also covered the NFL football combine run by Perfect Competition in Davie, Florida.
Reyes was a Men’s Soccer player at Mars Hill College and also worked on the Athletic Training staff during his time in North Carolina. Reyes worked with Women’s Basketball, Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Basketball, Track & Field, Baseball, and Football while earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Athletic Training in 2009.
He most recently received a Masters of Health Science, concentration in Athletic Training Leadership and Administration from the University of St. Augustine in April 2017.
A member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Reyes is a Licensed Athletic Trainer and also holds certifications as an ImPact Trained Athletic Trainer, American Heart Association, Certified BLS for healthcare provider, and an Administration & Leadership in Athletic Training certification.
Brian and his wife Mel reside in Elkins with their sons Noah and David.
