WBOY - It's tax season, and the Elkins-Randolph County Public Library wants to make getting your income tax returns as quick and easy as possible.
Davis & Elkins College Accounting Professor and Site Coordinator Tom Preston brings qualified students and works through tax season with community residents who are eligible for assistance. The free income tax preparation is a way for students to gain hands-on experience.
"Individuals come in and we prepare their income taxes. They go through a pretty formal process of completing interview forms, intake interview forms, and we make sure that we are qualified to do their income taxes based on that intake form, and then they have their taxes prepared by one of us," Preston said.
Tax preparation services will be available at the library every Wednesday and Saturday.
