ELKINS - The Davis & Elkins College political science club, Polis, will host a voter registration event from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 21 in The Joni and Buck Smith Arts Forum in Myles Center for the Arts. Pizza will be available.

“A lot of students think that politics is irrelevant to their life, but that could not be further from the truth,” said D&E Assistant Professor of Political Science Dr. Eric Castater, who serves as adviser to Polis. “Our elected leaders make decisions that touch on nearly every aspect of our lives. So, if students want more power over their lives, they need to vote. And in order to vote, they need to be registered.”

Polis is non-partisan student group that meets weekly to discuss political current events, and generally works to encourage more political participation among the D&E student body.
