Myles's hooked artwork engages the viewer with humor and a style that finds its origins in folk art. Alive with color, texture, and movement, the pieces display her sophisticated use of color, love of language and virtuoso needle skills. The rugs, wall hangings and pillows illustrate their tales through a menagerie of whimsical animals and a series of portraits of men as varied as a sun-drenched "Matisseman," a banker and a philosopher.
Originally from Elkins, Myles divides her time between West Virginia and Connecticut. Her hooked art has been exhibited widely across Connecticut and in Maine and West Virginia.
