ELKINS - Davis & Elkins College students, accompanied by faculty and staff, recently enjoyed a day at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Several who had never been on skis took the opportunity for lessons, while others who were already skilled at the sport tried snowboarding. Assistant Professor and Director of Outdoor Recreation Management Dr. Rick Gage, who helped organize the event, said everyone had a wonderful experience trying something new. Students who attended were Emily Adams of Hedgesville, West Virginia; Alex Armentrout of Whitmer, West Virginia; Holly Dickson of Elkins; Julia Hancock of Monroeville, Pennsylvania; Dylan Hatfield of Elkins; Will Mayer of Richmond, Virginia; Mattie Missildine of Mount Clare, West Virginia; Andersen Negley of New Canaan, Connecticut; Katy Reed of Beverly, West Virginia; Chris Scholz of Bel Air, Maryland; Sadie Shields of New Milton, West Virginia; and Lee Wittekind of Marietta, Ohio. Also attending were alumna Claire Potter, Gage, Assistant Professor of Theatre Bridget Esterhuizen and Student Life Coordinator Tyler “T-Claw” Crawford.
