ELKINS - Members of the Davis & Elkins College Student Nurses’ Association recently got some hands-on experience and helped with a long-running community project.

Senior Anna Gallup of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and junior Sarah Riffey of Elkins, along with Professor of Nursing Dr. Denice Reese, took blood pressure readings and handed out pamphlets on hypertension at the Rotary Club of Elkins Blood and Health Screening. The event took place February 10 at First United Methodist Church in Elkins and offered participants various health screenings.

The Davis & Elkins College Student Nurses’ Association conducts health related community service projects, such as American Red Cross blood drives on campus and fundraisers in the community for the Michael Webb Scholarship.
