ELKINS - Two Davis & Elkins College educators will lead workshops at the West Virginia Statewide Technology Conference this month in Morgantown. The conference brings together teachers and education students interested in exploring new ideas for classroom technology.
Associate Professor of Education Dr. Jennifer Tesar and Adjunct Professor in Art Macy Jackson will present two sessions both with emphasis on using technological resources that expand learning opportunities.
Using Digital Natives to Teach Digital Respect and Responsibility will focus on how educators in K-12 classrooms and higher education courses can collaborate to teach and learn about the perils of the digital world. Participants will learn how to provide their students with authentic experience in what it means to be digitally responsible.
Motivate and Animate with Voki will help educators in K-12 and higher education maximize engagement in the evolving 21st century classroom. Using Voki, a free tool to create customized talking characters, students and educators can collaborate on authentic and fun animated lessons.
At D&E, Tesar and Jackson teach courses in education technology.
