ELKINS - Students in the Davis & Elkins College Division of Creative Arts have let their energies flow creating various works throughout the semester. In celebration, the Division will host an open house from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, December 7 throughout the lower level of Myles Center for the Arts.
Visitors will have a chance to peruse the art studios, creative commons and exhibit space at their leisure, taking in all things creative from visual art to music and creative writing to dance and theater. Refreshments will be available and there is no admission fee.
“The event is an opportunity for students to show off the skills they learned in the Division of Creative Arts at Davis & Elkins College and showcase projects they have been working on during the fall semester,” said D&E Associate Professor of Art and Chair of the Division of Creative Arts Michael Doig.
Coinciding with the event is the annual Winter Pottery Sale, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring unique hand-made works by students and faculty.
Organizers say they hope members of the campus and local community will come away both entertained and more enlightened by students’ creativity that fills the art area.
