D&E Debate Team Discussing Black Student Union

ELKINS - The Davis & Elkins College Speech and Debate Team will host a public debate at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 21 in Eshleman Science Center 400. The topic is “Davis & Elkins College Should Create a Black Student Union.”

The event is free and open to the public.

Senior Emily Coffman of Elkins and sophomore Emily Alexander of Strasburg, Virginia, will argue for the proposition. Sophomore Thaddeus Breckenridge of Beckley, West Virginia, and sophomore Jakeya Perrin of Huntington, West Virginia, will participate on the opposing side.

Audience participation is encouraged and there will be opportunities to ask questions of the competitors.
