ELKINS – Davis & Elkins College alumna Megan Walters has returned to her alma mater with an appointment as administrative assistant to the vice president for enrollment management and institutional advancement, and enrollment advisor.
In her administrative role, Walters is responsible for scheduling and providing research assistance to D&E Vice President for Enrollment Management and Institutional Advancement Dr. Rosemary Thomas. She also takes a lead in organizing workflow and documents for both departments. As an enrollment advisor, Walters assists prospective students and their families in Randolph, Barbour and Upshur counties learn more about a liberal arts education at D&E.
Walters says that as an alumna, she can share her positive D&E experiences with others who are considering furthering their education at the College.
A May 2018 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in hospitality management and a minor in theatre arts, Walters served as an intern with the Contemporary American Theatre Festival in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. As the front of house intern working with theatre patrons, she was able to combine both fields of study.
Walters also volunteered with the Young Life Camp summer staff at Frontier Ranch in Colorado, a continuation of her involvement as a Young Life leader at Tygarts Valley High School.
As a student at D&E, Walters was a member of the D&E Concert Choir, worked as a resident assistant for two years and was a part of the Chapel Leadership Team. She also performed in several theatre productions including “The Ugly Duckling,” “The Giver” and “The Dinosaur Musical,” as well as portraying a chef with The Old Brick Playhouse on The Polar Express.
She is the daughter of John Walters of Orient Hill, West Virginia, and the late Addie “Tiny” Walters.
