Battleship Fundraiser

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be hosting a game of Battleship on Sunday, March 18 at 6 p.m. in George A. Myles Pool as a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. Registration is $20 for a team of four. Battleship takes the beloved board game and puts it into action. As a team of four you must navigate a canoe (your battleship) around the pool in an attempt to sink the other battleships. In order to do this, you are armed with only buckets and kick boards. The goal is to use those items to place water in the other battleships which will eventually cause them to sink. To register, contact Tobi Gibbons via email at least 24 hours prior to competition.

The Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which is the primary student-based group that contributes to policy-making for the division, established the Make-A-Wish partnership in 2003 and has since become one of the foundation’s largest and most consistent contributors. Division II has raised more than $4 million toward granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. More than 500 wishes have been granted through Division II contributions. These wishes can serve as a game changer in children’s fights against their illnesses, helping them feel better, and in some cases even get better.
