The community is invited to join us on campus for live music and stories, a film showing and discussion. Michael and Carrie Kline will present a concert with music and stories at 7 p.m. followed by a showing of "In the Hills and Hollows" and discussion. "In the Hills and Hollows" investigates the boom and bust impacts that fossil fuel-based mono-economies have on local communities. It provides an intimate look into the lives of several West Virginia residents living in the middle of the boom and how their quality of life has changed by this industry. The film also explores the lives of residents who have become oil and gas refugees, forced to leave their home and the place they love. Reception to follow. Presented by the Davis & Elkins College Appalachian Music & Dance Club.
General Admission: $5; D&E Students, Faculty and Staff: FREE
