Student Education Association
The Davis & Elkins Student Education Association is a chapter of Student National Education Association, which is a department of the National Education Association. The organization strives to promote community partnerships, foster leadership through pre-professional opportunities and peer mentoring, and promote national accreditation of teacher-education training. Any student enrolled in classes in the Education Department is eligible to join. Members tutor local pre-school students and conduct fundraisers to purchase items for the Education Department.
Kappa Delta Pi
Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education, represents all educators – regardless of subject area specialty, degree obtained, grade level focus or years of teaching experience. Eligibility requirements for undergraduate students includes a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, completion of at least 30 credit hours of collegiate course work with at least 12 credit hours in education course work programmed, in progress or completed, and an invitation from the local chapter.
