At Davis & Elkins College, the beauty of our Victorian mansions has not only been praised by wedding photographers throughout the state, Halliehurst and Graceland are often the location of choice for reunions, gala’s and seasonal organization parties.

For other needs, the Robert C. Byrd Center for Hospitality & Tourism provides business class lodging, executive-style conference rooms, as well as a large meeting room for 75-100 attendees with wireless access, teleconferencing options and a wide range of possible setups. For all facilities, our professional on-site catering is available.

At Your Service

To assure every event’s success, D&E Hospitality Services provides full-time conference support, from planning a wedding reception appetizer to setting up courier services for a meeting. We recommend an on-site consultation to help you choose a location and determine how to best  arrange a room or outdoor area for your event. Things to consider when talking with our Conference planner are what type of venue would be appropriate for your event: Is it large enough? Will you need catering service? If an outdoor venue is preferred, is there a rain location available?

We offer a full line of set-up services from fancy displays for formal events to conference-ready LCD projectors. Tables, chairs, lecterns, microphones and public address systems, and custodial services can all be provided for a fee. You can reserve these items through Hospitality Services. In addition to having items delivered, we can arrange to have them set up in the configuration you request. Charges do apply for labor, trucking, custodial charges, and rental of space and equipment.

What next?

Once those connections are made and you’ve received tentative approval, simply fill out and submit a Facility Request Form to our Conference & Convention Manager for final approval. To help ensure space availability, we recommend submitting the form least six weeks before your event date. Some locations must be booked months to a year ahead of time. Please note: No reservation is final until you receive confirmation from the campus Conference or Hospitality Services Office.
