The Child and Family Studies Program at Davis & Elkins College prepares students with the tools for understanding and working with children, youth, adults and families in a variety of settings, both public and private.
This program enables graduates to assist those children and families at-risk in improving their lives. Career opportunities include child care specialists, developmental specialists, child life educators, parent educators, extension specialists and youth advocates.
Integral to the curriculum is an internship that requires the student to work in a setting that matches their career goals and provide them with hands-on learning experiences. An internship allows graduates to explore career options, gain experience, develop skills and apply classroom knowledge to their chosen career path.
