To meet its goals, the Center:
1. Offers courses and other learning materials, develops internships and scholarships, and provides career guidance and mentoring to students who major in Management. Students in other majors, as well as those who enroll through distance education, are welcome as well.
2. Provides the railway heritage and tourism industry with information and materials to improve and expand operations and reach. This includes creating themed conferences, publishing findings and recommendations, developing materials and techniques to attract the general public, and undertaking outreach services.
3. Conducts public programs to educate and entertain those with an interest in railway heritage and preservation, to include topic-specific annual conferences, film festivals, art and literature events, photography and writing workshops, and music.
