In addition to her teaching responsibilities at Davis & Elkins, Wamsley works with WomanCare, Inc. in Fairmont, W.Va. At WomanCare, she provides obstetrics and gynecology care, women's health care and family planning services.

Prior to working with D&E and WomanCare, Wamsley served as a special procedures/cardiac catheterization lab staff nurse at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. She provided conscious sedation, advanced cardiac life support and intravenous therapy during routine and emergent cardiac catheterizations. She also performed stress tests, certified co-workers for CPR and assisted in cardioversions. During her time at Monongalia General, Wamsley participated in the first transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure at the hospital.

Wamsley has also worked with Examination Management Services, Inc. (EMSI) throughout West Virginia. As a family nurse practitioner with the Healthy House Calls program, her work included visiting Blue Cross Blue Shield members’ homes to perform physical assessments and obtain health histories for insurance purposes.

She has also worked as an intensive care unit and telemetry unit staff nurse at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, W.Va.

Wamsley has participated in a medical/surgical mission trip to Belize with the Hands and Heart Organization based in Buckhannon, W.Va. and completed a graduate project focusing on public heath outreach that outlined plausible interventions for college age binge drinking.
