A good deal of time, planning and resources have changed our home field since the pioneers of Senator Soccer first played together five decades ago. In 2010, a concerted effort to renovate the on-campus athletic fields materialized and now the Allen Athletic Fields includes soccer match and practice fields as well as an expanded baseball outfield and new softball field.
Due to the heavier wear, poor soil conditions and drainage issues of the match soccer field, the College decided to install an all-weather synthetic turf soccer/lacrosse field at a cost of just under $600,000. With the help of a $250,000 lead gift and a $100,000 challenge that matched all new and additional gifts since May 17, 2013, the soccer alumni took up the challenge to Finish the Field!
All this came at a great time for our men's and women's teams. Over the past few years, they have consistently appeared in regional and national rankings and a growing number of student-athletes have received honors for their excellence at the conference, regional and national levels.

Members of the Board of Trustees, D&E soccer alumni, current student-athletes, faculty and staff members and representatives of the local community joined for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate progress in the Finish the Field campaign on May 17, 2013. Construction of the field itself is complete. You can view the project on Flickr:
