The Office of Career Services & Student Employment of Davis & Elkins College in its provision of services to students, alumni, and off-campus employers makes no representations or guarantees expressed or written regarding the opportunities listed on its website or through one of its job posting systems.

The Office is not responsible for the wages, safety, working conditions or any other aspects of off-campus employment. It is the responsibility of the students and alumni to take the necessary precautions when interviewing for and accepting part-time, full-time and/or internship positions.

In addition, the Career Services & Student Employment web pages contain links to other websites as a convenience to our students and alumni, and is not responsible for the content of these sites. The opinions and views associated with these linked sites are not necessarily those of Davis & Elkins College or the Office of Career Services & Student Employment.

Counseling Appointment No-Show Policy

Any student who accumulates two (2) no-shows within a single quarter will have their appointment privileges suspended for the remainder of that same quarter. All other services will still be made available during the suspension, such as seminars, and online resources. A no-show will be declared when 15 minutes have elapsed past the original start time of the scheduled appointment and the student has yet to arrive. Any student who contacts Career Services & Student Employment prior to the scheduled start time to either cancel or change the appointment will not accumulate a "no-show."

Expectations of Career Services & Student Employment on Students for Internship Assistance

With a very limited staff, the Office of Career Services & Student Employment must minimize mismanagement of time and resources. To that end, please be aware that it is the student’s responsibility to keep in close contact with Career Services & Student Employment on all details pertaining to internship site selection. If a student engages with Career Services & Student Employment for assistance with obtaining placement with an employer but finds alternate internship arrangements through other sources, the student MUST notify Career Services & Student Employment immediately. Your cooperation will eliminate Career Services & Student Employment working to obtain a site unnecessarily on your behalf.
