Campus Activities Board (CAB)
About CAB
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) sponsors many of the social events happening all over the Davis & Elkins College campus. From the spring concert festival Déjà vu and winter formal to comedians and events in The Ice House (campus pub), CAB’s goal is to make sure D&E students are having fun, all semester long! The dedicated members of CAB work hard each week planning and advertising events for the whole campus to enjoy. All students are invited and encouraged to join CAB, to be involved in the deciding who/what comes to campus.
Meetings take place every week in the Student Life Office located in Jennings Randolph Hall. The general meetings run for roughly 60 minutes. Regardless of whether you’ve been to one, five or no meetings at all, everyone is welcome! CAB appreciates everyone’s help and is always looking for some fresh faces and new ideas.
Executive Board
Each year an executive board is elected from the active members of CAB. Get involved, make a difference, have your voice heard.
National Association of Campus Activities (NACA)
Davis & Elkins College is a member of the National Association of Campus Activities. NACA's school membership provides colleges and universities with the opportunity to become part of the nation’s premiere campus activities organization. Nearly 1,100 schools from across the country are members of NACA, including large and small institutions, public and private schools, two and four year colleges and universities, and community, junior and technical colleges. All member schools share the desire to participate in an organization that helps them create better programming opportunities for students, providing them with information and programs to help enrich the overall educational experience, while also keeping them up-to-date with the latest in the campus activities profession. (courtesy of NACA) To find out what other exciting opportunities are available from NACA, please visit www.naca.org.
NACA is split into seven regions. Davis & Elkins College is in the Mid-America region along with other schools from West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio. Each region holds annual conventions. Two to four active members of the Campus Activities Board have the opportunity to attend this convention to have a great time while developing leadership skills.
The CAB office is located on the main floor of Jennings Randolph Hall just off of the Senior Ball Room. Feel free to stop by anytime, call extension 1352, or e-mail goddards@dewv.edu.
