D&E, Jack Gibbons Present Introduction to Classics in 3 Free Concerts

Davis & Elkins College artist-in-residence Jack Gibbons will give three free concerts in May and June, previewing his forthcoming European tour and Oxford Summer Piano Series - an acclaimed annual event which he has been giving for 24 consecutive years in the historic English university city.

Davis & Elkins College Expands Student Ministry With New Partnership

Kevin Starcher, associate pastor at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church (DMPC), has joined Davis and Elkins College’s student ministry staff as part of a pilot program designed to enhance religious resources for students. He will be the featured speaker at the College’s Baccalaureate Program on May 12 at 7 p.m. in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium.

For the second year in a row, Davis & Elkins College has been named a top military-friendly institution by Military Advanced Education magazine. The magazine’s annual listing includes colleges and universities throughout the U.S. that respond to the unique needs of soldier and veteran students. The Davis & Elkins College Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present the Tony Award winning production, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” for only one week beginning April 19th, through the 22nd in the Boiler House Theatre.

Summer Tuition Reduction

ELKINS—Summer school at Davis & Elkins College is now more affordable, thanks to a recently announced reduction in tuition. The summer school tuition rate has dropped from $700 per credit hour to $350 per credit hour.

D&E Trustees Name New Athletic Facilities

At its Spring meeting, the Davis & Elkins College Board of Trustees expressed appreciation by naming several new campus athletic facilities. Those honored include College Trustee Joyce Allen and her husband, John; D&E First Lady Joni Smith; and Trustee and alumnus Dick Seybolt.

Coach Edgell Garners Honor

After the completion of the Southern Regional, the WVIAC announced the men's golf yearly honors. West Liberty's Joe Seabright was named the Player of the Year while the Hilltoppers' Mike Ricci and the Senators' Wally Edgell shared Coach of the Year accolades.
