An award-winning copywriter, Carol directs all official College communication, including media relations, and edits and produces the College magazine, ‘Forward,’ the e-newsletter ‘Fast Forward,’ hometown press releases about our students, and the College Web site. She also oversees the official D&E Facebook page and other D&E social media, and helps plan and promote special events for D&E.
Carol does some freelance writing after hours, most recently for West Virginia Living magazine, and has written and produced videos for the WV Association of Fundraising Professionals. She holds a master’s degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois, where she studied marketing in the University’s prestigious MBA program and taught writing for the Department of English. Carol received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Purdue University.

An honors graduate (magna cum laude) of West Virginia University with a degree in Marketing, Jessica keeps the Davis & Elkins College website current and helps produce
e-communcication for the D&E Advancement Office. Her duties include shooting campus photos and maintaining D&E's Flickr photo-sharing site, 'facebooking' for D&E, and distribution of College publications and promotion.
Jessica's other experience includes freelance communications design in the medical field and working at The Daily Athenaeum newspaper at WVU. While an undergraduate, she was a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, the National Exemplary Scholars in Service, the WVU Marketing Club, and was named to the Dean's List and/or President's List six times. She also received the University's HERF Scholarship.

Jason Asbell manages Sports Information for D&E Senator Athletics and also serves as Head Coach for the Women's Basketball Team. After his second season, the D&E Women's Team was recognized by the NCAA as one of the most improved teams in the country. He is also a member of D&E's Retention Team - a cross functional campus group that focuses on providing key academic and student services to enhance our students' D&E experience through graduation.
Jason is originally from Virginia where he began his coaching career at Bruton High School in Williamsburg. He has also enjoyed winning seasons at Lafayette and Jamestown high schools in Williamsburg and West Liberty State College in West Liberty, WV. In 2006, Jason was named Region I Coach of the Year and Group AA State Coach of the Year and his team, Jamestown High School, won the Group AA State Championship.
Jason received his bachelor's degree from Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, NJ, and is currently finishing his master's degree in Sports Leadership from Duquesne University. |
