Would you like to be a part of Davis & Elkins College?
Get Involved as a D&E Volunteer
Working with College students, our faculty and programs can be very personally rewarding. You will meet interesting people. Enjoy events. And provide an important community service. Interested? Here are some areas where you can help.
International Student Host Family Program
We have a program for matching area volunteers with our international students to provide a family environment for them. This is especially important during holidays, and also to help them navigate the ins and outs of life here. If you would like to know more, please contact Lowe Del Aviles via email. Or see the brochure.
New Student Hospitality
It's fun to have an inside track on local news, and volunteers can help new students find out about great places to explore off campus. You can help by visiting clubs, perhaps hosting a friendly dinner or serving as a local tour guide. Find out how you can help by contacting the Office of Student Life at 304-637-1211.
D&E Volunteer Program
This program was developed to provide Davis & Elkins College with volunteer services while creating, building, and fostering relationships within the community. There are many ways that volunteers can help -- whether taking students to and from airports so they can get home for the holidays or gardening special plots around campus. Additionally, many campus events require extra hands – perhaps helping to greet guests, working behind the scenes, or sharing specialized expertise. The goals of the program are to develop positive relations between the College community and volunteers; provide D&E with volunteers willing to assist in programs, activity or departments of the college; and allow volunteers to serve as productive members in the community.
There are many ways you can help and receive the satisfaction of knowing your contributions are greatly appreciated! Please contact Joyce Nestor or call 304-637-1206 for more information.
