Dr. Michael Gaylor

Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Biology & Environmental Science

Dr. Gaylor’s scientific interests lie broadly in the areas of environmental analytical chemistry and ecological toxicology. He is actively involved in research aimed at better understanding the fate and effects of organic chemical contaminants within terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Additional interests include development of environmentally friendly (i.e. “green”) analytical techniques for the determination of organic chemicals in environmental samples, as well as assessing biological indicators of ecosystem stress.

Russ McClain

Instructor of Environmental Science

Coordinator of the Environmental Science Program

Director of the Center for Sustainability Studies

Mr. McClain is completing a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Memphis. His professional interests include ecological restoration, avian ecology, and aquatic entomology. He serves as coordinator of the Department's Environmental Science Program.

Dr. Shawn Stover

Associate Professor of Biology

Dr. Stover holds the Ph.D. in Biological Education from the University of Northern Colorado. His research focuses on the effects of physical training on oxidative stress in skeletal muscle. He is also the director of the Flynn Planetarium and of the Summer Enrichment Program for Pre-health Students at Davis & Elkins. Check out Dr. Stover's website at www.shawnstover.homestead.com.
